What is the difference btw a raw finish bumper and a primered bumper?

I know you can paint the primered bumper but what is the raw finish for? Can you paint that also? i also noticed that the raw finish is a lot cheaper.

thank you|||The raw finish will be plastic only, where as the primed will be exactly as it sounds, in primer. The raw finish will need to be primed before you can paint it, hence the cheaper price. Good Luck! :)|||a raw bumper needs to be washed with a solvent then sanded then washed again before you can put primer on it.go with the primed one even though its more money it will save you money when you get it painted.|||top_ls1 is correct. and priming plastic is a pita, the stuff to do it right is expensive, and nasty. i'd definitely go with primered.
