What is the best and most efficient way to remove bumper stickers from car window?

I would like to remove some bumper stickers from my car's windows. What is the easiest and most efficient way to do it?|||On a warm day try peeling it off. With the crud that is left use WD40 and a single edge razor blade to remove the rest of the gunk.

I done this a bunch of times and it works nicely. Hopefully you don't have any on tinted windows. Doesn't matter if the tint is from the factory or not. I ran into the problem after removing the sticker the tinting was a different color and you could still make out the design if you looked hard enough. So my truck had a Calvin image going to the bathroom on a Dodge ram head faded into the tint. After a few years you can't see it anymore.

Good luck with the stickers and don't cut yourself.|||Go to the parts store and get a single edged razor blade scraper.|||Use a heat gun or a hair dryer, and peel them off.|||Have a bucket of water handy in case you spill something on the paint.. Make sure the paint is cool. Wet the paint beneath the sticker with dish washing liquid before you begin. spray the sticker with WD-40. Let it soak through to the adhesive, then spray again. Once you begin peeling at a corner of the sticker, spray the back side, wait a few minutes, then peel the rest off. Dissolve the remaining adhesice with WD-40, then wash with dish washing liquid( Dawn preferred), and rinse. After that, observe parking regulations.|||A single edge razor blade|||i used nail polish remover (with acetone) and a scraper. it worked well, and fairly easily.|||Finger nail polish remover. I use to use it to remove price stickers from shelves in the department store I worked in. You just let it soak in a minute and most of the time you don't even have to scrape. Just make sure you don't get any on your paint on the car.|||Use acetone and a razor blade|||A straight edge razor blade.|||Razor blade and orange oil based cleaner if it leaves sticks stuff.|||single edged razor blade and scrape them off like you would ice. I have a 97 Nissan Pathfinder LE and have rust and/or peeling on the chrome bumper. I don't care if I have to paint it if I can, I just want the cheapest solution and would like to do it myself. What is the cheapest way to fix it?

Thank You!|||There is no cheap way to rechrome a bumper. You can send it in to be rechromed, or to remove light surface rust, use a brillo or steel wool pad with soapy water. Follow this with a chrome polish, and see if it helps.|||get a new one|||hey i would take it to all these different places where they fix this stuff and find the cheepest one!! if you have msn add m_e_baron_09@hotmail.com|||I used a potato to take rust off my cast iron skillet. You could try it on chrome. Just take a potato and cut it in half. Rub the bumper with the potato. It might work on chrome.|||if you choose to paint it than all you need to do is wet sand... use a fine sand paper with running water and go slow, all you want to do is smooth the peeling and rough it enough to hold paint. dont forget to primer first.

if you dont want to paint do the same process but use super fine sandpaper with a spray can of wd-40 keep it lubed as you sand it do this until peel marks or scratch deminash's a little then switch to a buffer and buff until shiney again. this may take some time but is will work.|||If you remove the bumper and wire wheel the rusted area, you can paint over it with a product called liquid chrome. It gives you th same shine as the origanal chrome.|||I would say the cheapest way would be to sand smooth prim and paint it .|||Just Remove the Bumper.

Including labour charges to have it fitted by a mechanic and the actual cost of a new rear bumper?|||The bumper skin of a Ka is in three parts - you may not need all three parts.

Where to find the plastic strip on top of Jeep Cherokee rear bumper?

I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee and have been rear ended recently. I replaced the rear bumper, but the replacement bumper did not come with the plastic strip on top of the bumper, and my old one has been damaged. Does anyone know what that part is called (it's a kind of plastic bar with gouges that sits on top of the bumper just below the tailgate). And also where I could buy it? Thanks a lot!|||It's called a "rear bumper step pad". I would have to say that you're gonna have to go to your local auto body shop because I looked for the part online and I could only find them for 99-01 models. Your local auto body shop though should either have them or find them with ease.

How do I safely remove the goo from a removed bumper sticker left on a real nice paint job?

My sweet new ride came with a lousy bumper sticker on it. I peeled it off, but goo remains. I need to remove it without any serious scrubbing or damage to the paint. The chemicals would have to be very mild. Maybe you guys can help. Otherwise I guess I call Grandma : )|||I work in the auto body shop for 15 years. Using wax is the best way.|||Try putting some peanut butter on it,the oil from the peanut butter might break the goo down so it will just roll off.Just a thought,I don't know why, it just popped in my head when I read your question, and it want hurt the paint on your car.

I thought of goo gone too but I thought you might want to try something without chemicals.|||GOO GONE comes in a little can, is a liquid and will gently remove the goo that remains - also good for many other applications. The GOO GONE and a soft cotton rag ( old shirt ) will do the job.|||GOO GONE!!!

That will definitely take that goo off. Trust Me. I've used that thing on every surface, it doesn't damage it and takes the goo right off.

You could get it at target or walgreens

What does a "bumper to bumper" warranty mean for an extended warranty? Is it different from factory warranty?

I am buying a used car that has7K miles left on the factory warranty. Should I buy an extended warranty till 75K for "bumper to bumper"?|||Bumper to Bumper on an extended warranty usually covers you for major MECHANICAL malfunctions. They do not usually cover light bulbs or trim pieces. Lots of times they are a pain to deal with and most of the time will leave you feeling frustrated when they denie a claim. Some places with not accept certain "after-market" warranty companys|||Bumper to bumper means that every and any thing that goes wrong with your car they will fix. Factory warranty might just include the electric parts of your car (which are important also) What you need to do is go with someone that knows about cars to help you decide if you really need bumper to bumper or not. I just bought a used car and I got the warranty that covers all electrical plus motor. Sometimes they try to sell you more than you need.|||It depends.|||That anything between the bumper and bumper that cost more than $32.61 cents is NOT covered.|||I never by automotive extended warranty as they never pay. How much does it cost to fix paint on front bumper?

I have a black 03 Honda Civic EX and I accidently parked to far at a parking lot and hit a stone thing. It made a scratch going down on the front of my bumper on the right side.

How much would it cost to fix it?|||My husband is an auto-body painter so I know a little about this, but not too much! It depends on how they fix it. The best thing you can do is either see if you can get a shop to touch it up so that they just use touch-up paint in that one spot. It won't look as perfect as repainting it, but if they are good you won't notice it. Another thing that some body shops do is if you have a small job like this, you can make a deal with them that if you pay them in cash and don't use insurance, they can fix it for you and they will give the painter half the money and take the other half as profit. Ask around, don't take the first shop to throw a deal at you.|||Just do it yourself with some touch up paint, its only a bumper, why pay someone to do it. Get the correct paint at the auto store or dealer if you have to.

How do i mount a winch to a stock jeep bumper?

I have a 2004 jeep wrangler and I did not want spend money on getting a bumper for my winch if I didn't need it. I know that you can buy a mounting plate that fits onto the stock bumper, however it seems like it would need to go where the sway bar is now. So what do i do to mount it to the stock bumper?|||You cant and dont, your stock bumper is not reinforced enough to properly handle the forces a wench will make when pulling your jeep, It could all easly tear off. How do I touchup paint my scratched bumper?

I own a 2001 Acura Cl and was recently rear ended. The paint on the bumper was chipped off pretty badly, down to the metal surface. What is the best and least expensive way to get my bumper looking new again without having to replace it? I greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.|||Gosh, I just dealt with this on the front bumper of my TL...

I accidentally lowered the garage door onto the bumber...put small scatches on it.

Good news, it can be repaired to look almost as good as new....and I'm not an expert at paint, either...there's hope! :) Here's what I did:

Bought touch-up paint pens from the online source (See below). You'll need the color code for your car. Buy both the base color pen, and a clear-coat paint pen.

I used a Q-Tip...pulled off most of the cotton swab first, leaving just a little on the stick.

Clean/dry the bumper %26amp; do the touch-up in a well-lit area %26amp; when the humidity is low.

While sitting on a low slung chair in front of the bumper's damaged area, apply some of the base color to the Q-Tip with very few strokes within the damaged area. Use a small, clean piece of fabric to immediately wipe clean any over-painting that might occur.

Don't try to layer the paint to the bumper's original thickness, this will result in a poor appearance...the goal is to simply smoothly coat the raw areas of the bumper with paint.

Following the product's instructions, allow adequate time to dry, and then apply the clear-coat.

BTW, the procedure I followed works best for small scratches. Large gouges %26amp; big patches will require direct application from the paint pen, or the use of a touch-up paint bottle. Also, there's a point where buying a new bumper cover %26amp; having the pros' do the job makes the most sense. I'm guessing you'll be looking at ~ $400 - $600 for a new, painted bumper cover as installed from a body shop. (BTW, I also guessed this price b/4 reading the above post...based upon a similar repair job I had done a while back).

Best of success!|||First you need to sand with 600 grit sand paper then use primer then sand 600 grit again then a spot putty let dry and sand again with 1200 grit then paint let dry and sand again then simonize it.that's it unless the chip is deeper than i thought or just bring it to a shop and ask them how much to touch it up...Its really not that much.|||I own a Honda and a very similar incident happened to me. I went to a Honda dealer and ordered a small touch up paint bottle, this will come with precise instructions and if you follow them you will get a perfect match. Do not buy an aftermarket product because they are never the exact same. The dealer takes the year of the vehicle into consideration and dilutes the color to match the affect of the sun on your paint. FYI shake the paint bottle very well!!!|||My sister swears by nail-polish, but only if it's a little place not like the whole bumper, lol!|||use a sharpie|||If there arnt any dints, there are many products available, but from experience i used this stuff i got of the net, the site is www.paintscratch.com and it sells original factory touch up paint for pretty much any car model and make.

if you dont like buying stuff off the net, just go to you local auto shop as previously suggested.

good-luck :)|||If you were rear-ended the repair would be completely covered by the other parties insurance company. If the bumper refinish is down to the plastic (it's not metal) you will need to get it repaired and refinished. Typically $400 - $600 and on this vehicle I would get it done right. Touch up is only effective (looks "ok") on very small scratches. You will still see the damage but it wont stick out like a sore thumb. You can buy your color code from the dealer. Make sure you shake it well, wipe off excess from the applicator apply moderately. If it runs, wipe it off and start over. DO NOT store the touch up paint in your vehicle. It can explode in high temperatures.|||cheapest? contact the dealer to purchase a small tube of touch up paint. You can get the exact color of your car thru them. Sometimes the auto store only has generic colors, not the best match. They are about the size of a fat pen and under $10.|||bring it to a palce where it can get fixed.|||If the paint is chipped to the metal there is no quick fix that will look like nothing ever happened. Nothing you can buy in the store at a parts store will work. You will have to bond or prime the bumper and get it painted. Sorry.|||Buy the little bottles of paint from an auto shop. They are commonly found and come in various colors.

When is it safe to put the bumper pads back up on the crib?

My baby is almost 6 months old now. I've heard that you should keep the bumpers off until 1 year because of SIDS, but now she is moving around so much at night.

Two nights ago she was rolling in her sleep and her forehead hit the wooden side rail of the crib. Thankfully she's okay, but I'm scared this might happen again. She's so active - even when she's sleeping!

It has me wondering if it's okay to put the bumper on now?|||I wouldn't bother. They aren't running at full speed and hitting the bars. Rolling into the bars isn't going to hurt them at all. I was going to put them on after my son got about 8-9 mo but I didn't because my neighbors kid untied his and was using them like a rope (still tied at one end) to try and stand. I have also heard of some kids using them as a step (although they'd have to be pretty thick) to get up higher and try to make it out of the crib. I decided not to put them on for either of my kids. No regrets. It made it easier for us to play peekaboo and to get pictures of them asleep.|||i'd rather not put them on. im always scared that theyll get tangled up in them and not be able to breath. rather than bumper pads, i just had more of those long and round baby pillows and place them around the edge of the crib. my 2nd child is now 7 mos and things worked out well for both my kids|||no idea abt this but u can search regarding this google|||are you kiding i never took my daughters off.

i have never heard such a thing about bumper pads causing SIDS

but its up too you and what you think is best for you baby.|||Well I know there is always a risk . For evrything these days. i used a bumper pad for all 3 of my kids untill they learned how to crawl around the crib and grab things. then i took it out thinking they might rap themselves around it. But it's all really up to you . what you feel is ok and how you feel about things. Use your mother instincs . Thats what i do . Only you can really decided what you should or should not do with your baby when it comes to her/his safety and in life . just be carefull and safe at all times.|||never you are never suppose to use them in the first place it is a SIDS risk but if you want to use them now its fine cause she is old enough to know that she cant breathe and move it will be fine now but i never used them and my daughter never hurt her self on the bars good luck bye|||I used bumper pads with my first daughter, who is 3 now. I never had any problem until she could pull up. Then she would use the pads to stand on and try to get out of the crib.

If your child is 6 months old, I think you will be ok using them. The older he/she gets, the less the chance. And just think...in 6 more months, you won't have to worry about it at all!|||actually bumpers are never recommended to be in the crib regardless of age (same with pillows and blankets, in fact nothing but a fitted sheet and the baby is recommended)

Health Canada recommends in their "Crib Safety" fact sheet that bumper pads never be used. This position is supported by the Canadian Paediatric Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths. The rationale behind this statement is that bumper pads, and other products such as quilts, duvets, sheepskins, pillows, stuffed toys, and position maintaining devices, affect the flow of fresh oxygen around the infant and can also pose a smothering hazard if the child's face is in close contact with them. The American Academy of Pediatrics, in their position paper, hypothesis that certain infants may have a maldevelopment or delay in maturation in a part of their brainstem involved in ventilatory response, chemosensitivity and blood pressure responses. When these infants become compromised (physiologically) during sleep (perhaps from overheating or lack of oxygen as a result of being in contact with or too close to one of the above listed products, or a combination), they are not able to arouse themselves enough to prevent hypoxia and death. The re-breathing of air may in fact be a contributing factor.

Bumper pads were first introduced many years ago as a method of protecting infants from head entrapment in unsafe cribs where the slats were too far apart. Since 1986, cribs are manufactured with slat widths that are impossible to get an infant's head trapped in. Therefore, the bumper pads are no longer necessary. As well, many years ago when bumper pads were first used, infants were dying as a result of SIDS, but the research as to why this was happening was not as advanced as it is today, and researchers had not yet discovered the link between bumper pads and re-breathing or decreased air flow. Luckily, we have that information today from a vast body of scientific research, and it is very important that we convey this information to parents who question the recommendations.

Parents will also often comment that if they do not use bumper pads, their infant's hands, feet or legs will get stuck in the slats. This in fact can also happen with the use of bumper pads, as baby's can get their feet, legs etc. lodged in between the slats either above or below the level of the bumper pad. Although it is possible for the infant to get their hands, leg, etc. caught in between the slats, this event will not result in any serious injury. In fact, the infant will either dislodge the body part themselves, or will make a noise so that the parents can respond and help to remove the part. On the other hand, the risk with bumper pad use is much more serious and can in fact result in the death of the child.

It is also important for parents to be reassured that the risk of sustaining a bruise or injury to the head if the infant rolls into the side of the crib s next to non-existent. The force that would be required to cause such damage is not possible for an infant to produce.|||When the baby can roll over.|||then take them out again when she stands on them and boosts herself over the side onto her head! bumper pads sure are cute in the bed and make you look like the ultimate in safe mommy but why? I never have figured that one out. I doubt she is hitting hard enough to break the skin on her forehead.|||I would think that as soon as they can hold their head up on their own she should be fine. I had my sons bumper in his crib with he was 5 months and he did beautifully. He is a wiggler too.|||Don't bother with the bumpers. They're not safe. Anyway before you know it she will be pulling to stand in her crib and she'll use the bumper as a stepstool. It's not worth the risk of her falling out of the crib. I know you're worried about her rolling around and hitting her head on the crib rails, but babies don't move fast enough in their sleep to injure themselves that way. It's not like she's being forcibly pushed against the crib. Her natural reaction will be to back off if it hurts her in any way.|||i bought a breathable bumper at babies"r"us because my daughter would put her face in all the other ones, i love it she'll be 1 soon and its still on her crib.

How much to repair a scratched bumper?

I tapped someone's bumper at a red light over the weekend. No dents to the bumper. I received an estimate from him this morning. Estimate is $597 but the shop will repair for $500 cash. Seems maybe a bit shady?? I am still trying to decide if i should pay out of pocket or let my insurance company take care of it.? Any advice?|||Suggest to get another estimate. Sometimes (depending on the depth of the scratch) you can polish the cratch out with chrome polish. If you decide to replace, suggest to ask for the scratched bumper and sell it to junk dealer or whomever ,to recover some of your $|||All depends on what your deductable is, if yours was $500. than I would pay cash. But $597. is kind of high if all you did was scratched it.

How do you take off paint on a Urethane bumper?

I need to repaint my bumper, how do i take off paint on Urethane? I was thinking a really fine grit of sandpaper or paint stripper.|||DO NOT use paint stripper..... It can damage the plasics that most bumpers are made of.... WHY do you want to strip the paint off? If its not cracked then just sand it down to remove the shine only... It is not necessary to remove the paint to the plastic... If your doing this by hand wet sand it 1st with 600 grit sand paper..... Use a water bottle to keep the surface wet while you sand it.... Once the shine and even a bit of the clearcoat is removed then take 1000 grit wet sand paper and work the surface to a flat smooth finish. This 100 grit paper will remove sanding markes the 600 grit may have left behind......... The have your paint shop spray a primer sealer with a flexing agant as a base before whatever paint system your going to use......|||If the paint that is on your bumper is in good shape then you shouldn't need to remove it. Clean and prep it. Wet sand it with 400 grit sandpaper and paint over the old finish. Be sure to use a flex-agent to make the paint and clear flexible.

If you do need to remove the paint use a paint stripper for urethane parts. Klean-Strip makes a good one. It is not as strong as regular paint stripper but it won't hurt your bumper.

How should I repair the area underneath my front bumper?

Usually underneath the front bumper there is a dark, hard yet flexible piece of plastic like material that helps prevent damage to the underside of the car. What is the name of this part, how hard would it be to fix and how much?|||This panel has several names, some people refer to this as the lower valance panel , radiator deflector panel, and or lower front mud flap. Without seeing the panel and not knowing what you drive, this makes it hard to give a cost. If the panel is not ripped apart, using metric screws or bolts, the panel can be reattached. If the screw/bolt holes have become enlarge, fender washers (or metal or plastic jar cap covers with a hole punched in the center) can be used as a patch over the enlarged hole when reattaching.|||i need to kno about this also..becuz one of the screw(s) came off of my back bumper and it hangz...|||Its called a mud flap|||I've always heard it refered to as a Rock Valence or lower Radiator valence usually to protect the car's mechanicals from any damage while driving. If it is cracked, try using epoxy to reglue it back together. Otherwise, you should try to get the correct size nuts and blots to rehang the valence. I've also see it supported by 2 zip ties, but that was only because 2 of the 6 bolts were missing.

But i don't know if thats too much to just replace the front bumper?|||Yeah these people are looking at dealer pricing and the labor to install it. You need them to get another quote. The bumper itself shouldn't cost $800 unless it's brand spankin new model. And if you were backing out of a parking spot I'm pretty sure the law will say that it was their fault for not yielding. Everything else is common sense. if its in the way of the job, remove it. Taking stuff off takes time but it makes the job go a lot easier. Good luck!|||Not really. Remove the headlights, then the arch lining, the a few bolts that hold the bumper on. Colour spray painting is easy, but it's not so easy to get a good gloss finish with spraycan sealant.

How much would it cost to fix a bumper that is slightly damaged, after being hit somewhat lightly?

It was hit by another car at 5-10 mph at most. The other car isn't damaged, but this one's bumper seems to have been detached a bit (it's poking out a centimeter or so on the side). It's a small Lexus SUV.|||Repairs on cars are expensive. Because the bumper is one unit the whole thing has to be replaced, so your looking at several hundred dollars if it can be repaired. Even then it will cost you.|||auto body repairs are expensive. since there's no real way to "fix" a bumper, you'll need to have the whole thing replaced. that's about $600-700 at the least..|||id let it be you dont want to know... but you can call or stop at a few body shop and ask|||when that happened it cost me $760

How much does it typically cost to repair front end damage, like replacing the bumper and a head headlight?

day I spun out and hit a gaurdrail. The drivers side of my bumper got hit pretty bad, the head light got knocked lose and the entire bumper is dented. The hood is fine however, and the passenger head light is just fine. Basically bumper down I need to be replaced. Oh, its a 1996 Honda Accord.|||It really depends on how much damage there is what you see might not be the only damage there is. From there it depends on the shop you take it to and who you have do the work. If you want to try and do it on a budget I recomend you look around at pick a parts and try to find the parts your self. This will be much cheaper then getting it fromt he dealer ship or having a body shop get it for you. Even if the body shop gets it from a pick a part they are going to mark it up. If you've got some male friends that know a decent amount cars they can probably help you. Search pick a parts for the parts you need. I would just shop around and get estimates (they should be free).|||Depends on how hard you hit the guard-rail. The car could have frame damage or it could not have frame damage and you won't know until a body shop takes a look.

If they replace it, I know new front bumpers are around $200. Plus another $50 or so in paints. Labor is gonna depend on the shop. Headlight will sell for around $150.

So maybe, and this is a very rough estimate, around $500 - IF there's no damage to the frame, if there is frame damage you can expect that number to jump up much higher.

When I was in an accident, my front bumper and engine hood were both ruined in the accident. I had no frame damage, but just to have a body shop install a new front bumper, bumper support bar, new engine hood, headlight, and color match the new bumper and hood I was quoted in the $2200-$2400 range by multiple shops. It's amazing how expensive body/paint repairs can be.|||Junk yards that have cars are your best bet but you may have to do a paint job to it in order to match it up. Dittos with the headlight. You can find an automotive repair book at any auto parts store, which means you can probably find it as a PDF for free if you look in the right places. This book will help you replace the bumper and the headlight step by step. I suggest finding the book first that way you will know what kind of a headache you may be in for.

Good luck

How to get rid of scratches on car bumper?

My bumper has a few pretty nasty scratches on it.I can't afford to get it sprayed.I was wondering if anybody has any tips to make it at least look better?I've been told I can get touch paint but is this going to look terrible if I use it?|||Wax and polish with orbital buffer.

That's really the only way...if they are fine/small scratches it will get rid of most.

Thick scratches it would help very little.

If it's black car they make special wax for black cars which I highly recommend.|||hmm i too have those scratches on my two month old fit and the paint looks horrible. i have people telling me its because i bought black. I like the black. other black cars do not look like this. - we have tried everthing and the swirls and scratches come back.

i am glad to see your car is red. i think we may have a paint problem? i am going to complain to my dealer, will probably go nowhere but i am really upset about this. what is the car going to look like in a year?|||polish.

How much would it cost to replace a bumper on a Honda Ridgeline?

I ran into a wood carport the other day in my Dad's truck, and totally ruined his bumper. We have car insurance, but even with that how much do you think it would cost? Would insurance go up, and by how much do you assume?

Also, the tail light is broken, how much should that cost?

I'm just trying to see how much money I should start earning to pay him back.

Thanks!|||Since it wasn't with another vehicle your insurance shouldn't go up. But that depends on your insurance company. To check prices for new parts try Partsgeek.com and AutoPartsWarehouse.com if you want used parts try your local salvage yard. Hope that helps!!!|||It's a little difficult without knowing more details about your dad's Ridgeline, like the year (models change from year to year, so the parts do too).

You can use your favorite search engine to find parts. However, since you don't know anything about cars, you probably can't get very far. For example, a bumper isn't just one piece. There's the outer piece, usually plastic these days; it's called the bumper cover. Underneath it are some steel parts (bumper reinforcement) and probably some hard foam.

Keep in mind that it's not just the cost of the parts (and body shops mark parts prices up); it's also the cost of the labor to remove the damaged parts and install the new ones.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was over a thousand dollars to replace a badly damaged bumper and tail light.

And yes, insurance does go up if you make a claim. It's impossible to predict how much.|||i am trying to find the estimate cost for the replacement of you bumper for Honda Ridgeline, however, i can't use this http://www.automd.com/repaircost/ since it lacks of the year or date it was made. well try to use that link for you to find the estimate price in replacing the bumper. hope that this helps you.|||Why would you come here and expect to get an accurate answer from strangers who might not have any real experience in repairing cars?

Only a body shop in your area can give you an accurate estimate as labor rates vary by region and damaged vehicles need to be seen in person to write an estimate. Not even a trained estimator, like myself, can write an estimate based on a description. Go to a local body shop and get a real estimate, they should give you one for free.

Anyone giving you a price here is just guessing.

How do you get a bumper sticker off?

I have a bumper sticker on my bumper but I don't want to just peel it off because I am worried about the paint. Do they just peel off, or is there some other way to get them off?|||E-Z off oven cleaner . spray it on let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and it will peel right off . sounds crazy but it works wonders|||Don't worry stickers dont damage the paint. If you can just peel it off nothing will happen to the paint. If it is hard for you to peel it of just get a small razor blade and on the edge of the sticker try lifting the sticker off once you can put your fingers on the sticker peel it off slowly if the sticker rips just peel it again with the razor blade until you remove it completely. Be very careful though because if the blade slips you may damage the paint.|||Maybe the best thing for you is to use a thin piece of paper (or credit card) to peel up the edges then spray some WD-40 under the areas of the sticker that you have managed to get unstuck (this should work its way under the rest of the sticker).

Once you have got it off make sure you spray the area down with a water-hose to remove any excess WD-40 and/or adhesive from the sticker.

Hopefully this will make the job a little easier for you. |||A hair dryer can help warm up the adhesive on the sticker to help it release a bit better. There are also adhesive removers available that can accomplish this. Check at some auto parts stores and see. You can test the product on the underside of your plastic bumper in an out of sight location to see how it reacts to paint first.|||soak it in hot water or hot water on a rag and leaver it on there for afew minutes then peal it off.....then if it doesnt get all of it crub it off with the rag and hot water|||Use the hair dryer. A heat gun makes it too hot to touch. or paint over it.|||use a heat gun or hair blow dryer warm it up and it will peel off easily

How much does it cost to replace a bumper?

I don't think it's actually the bumper its actually the thing below it where my fog lights are etc. It can sort of pop on and off a grill maybe? It's for a 2000 Volkswagon Beetle. I just need a ball park range I know every body shop has different prices. Im just debating on whether or not to put an insurance claim in or not.|||depending on where you live try pull a part their prices are the same on all year model parts no matter what and you might get lucky they have a web site|||Are you talking about the air dam? If so and plastic you should be able to get replaced for less than $200. The body shops you contact should give you a free written estimate. Do not proceed with repairs with a written estimate you approve. If you can find the part in a wrecking yard it would save you some $$

How can I protect my bumper sticker from rain?

I have 3 or 4 bumper stickers on my car and all of them stay put, except one. Every time it rains it gets creases and then loses a little more stickiness. It's on the verge of falling off. I really like this bumper sticker so what can I do? Is there a clear protector I can purchase?|||Yes - and its really cheap and comes in bulk.. Its called...packing tape. You can buy it from Wal-Mart, a drugstore or the post office.|||Sounds like it's not really made for/meant for the outdoors. Outdoor stickers are made of different materials and printed with different inks to prevent fading.|||Use BSU. It works well. By-the-way,,,,,BSU is 'Bumper Sticker Umbrella'.|||Just throw it away. If you try to preserve it you will end up screwing up your bumper.|||just go to the next gay parades and anti-war demonstrations and get more you hippie|||put the other bumper stickers on top of the one that doesnt stay put

These lights are in the rear bumper, and the factory taillights are disconnected... Nissan Patrols are a prime example.|||Probably to comply with Australian Design Rules. (ADR's)

How much does it cost to replace a bumper on a 2000 subaru?

I just need a ball park figure. I don't know the type of subaru. My friend just ran into one and agreed with the people to pay for the damage. Told her that it my cost more than she thinks. Any idea? She said only the front bumper was damaged.|||A Subaru factory bumper can be had for around $200-250

The bumper does not come painted from Subaru

It will need to be painted. This will run yet another $200-250

Bumpers do not include any clips/pins/etc etc

When you buy a bumper you are buying "just" the bumper|||More than the insurance premium would be for sure. To get a new factory body part will probably be over $500.

How much does it cost to install a bumper cover?

I already have a new bumper cover, same paint and everything? How much would it cost to have it installed at a shop?|||20$ ?

How do you make your own easily removable bumper sticker?

I want to make a bumper sticker all of my own, but I don't want anything that will be on Ol' Blu 'till the day she is a pile of scrap metal. How will I go about this?|||1. find / create image on computer / draw it - whatever works for you.

2. go to a print shop and get it printed out on adhesive vinyl, peel and stick. To remove - soak with rubbing alcohol and rub away.

or

2a. Laminate it - then apply a tiny dot of adhesive on the corners and stick it. to remove use a shrp knife to cut away sticket and peel up adhesive. Dont use stuff like araldite as adhesive - it will never some off. tiny drop of instant glue will be perfect - pin head size or smaller. will leave a pin head sized residue behind - will go in time with washing / buffing and waxing.|||Print it on magnetic paper and stick it on a flat piece of the car body - but don't forget anyone can take it off if they fancy it for their own bumper! (this may be more useful for door stickers than bumper stickers but worth a try if the car body is suitably flat)

(be careful with inkjet paper - the ink will probably run in rainy weather)|||I either tape said bumper sticker on the INSIDE of my back window, where its pretty easy to remove at a later time.....

or I would go to Michaels Craft Supply and get a small foam sign and paint what you like on there and do the same.

|||If price does not matter, you can have it in a magnetic plastic.

Just like you see in the doors of cars or trucks. Have them make it for bumper size and you can stick on and off anytime.

How to change the front bumper of a 2001 PT Cruiser?

I just bought a PT Cruiser with the front bumper damaged. I was wondering how do I change the bumper. It looks easy to do and would hate to waste money to have it done by a mechanic.|||Luckily, the car is wrecked so you have the chance to slowly take it apart and see firsthand how to do it, and not worry about making mistakes because the damage is done. Most of the bumpers anymore are connected with clips and plastic fasteners. There may be 4 bolts on the inside that connect it to the bump stops.

How much should it cost to ship a bumper cover?

It's a front bumper cover for a 2001 Ford Mustang. I know it can depend on this and that but I would just like a ball park amount to get an idea.|||it did cost me nothing ,the place i ordered one from paid the shipping because it was over 100 dollar order, usual amount though is around 24 bucks or so for this, good luck.|||$420.20

How much does it typically cost to repair front end damage, like replacing the bumper and a head headlight?

The hood is fine however, and the passenger head light is just fine. Basically bumper down I need to be replaced. Oh, its a 1996 Honda Accord.|||If it's mostly on the driver's side, are you sure the side panel is fine? If it's just the bumper and headlight, it'll probably cost you something like $700. I had to replace a bumper on an Acura RSX, and the part alone was something like $350, then you have to add labor, and they have to paint it to match. The total (a couple years ago) was around $650.|||If you take it to a body shop and want it completely fixed it will run well over a $1,000...with a 15 yo car I suggest you just get things hammered out and get the headlight some how functionally fixed (not cosmetically, just so it is going to stay in one place and work)...if you ask for that type of minimum repair you may get someone to do it for a few hundred dollars.|||If you shop around, you can get the parts for about 150-200.. (about 100-150 for the bumper, about 50 for the light)..

Someone to paint it will be like 100-150, and to put it on will be another 100. I would do it for that price, and all my mechanics would do it prolly for a little more or a little less, but that is the median.

If you get it done in just one pace (say ashop,) theyll charge you more... the job total is going to be about 600 or 700.. Look for "car parts" on craigslist around your area, and get the bumper from them and the headlights.. Peple will deliver it to you..

How much paint do i need to paint a mustang front bumper?

I have a 03 cobra bumper that i wanna put on my 00 GT. Only problem is that its a different color, so i wanna get it painted but ive been quoted around $250. I'd rather just do it myself. So i was wondering how much paint should i buy to paint the bumper? I dont want to buy too much and im ordering on-line so if i dnt order enough ima be pissed cuz im gonna have to wait to get more shipped to me. Any suggestions would be appriciated.|||Frist off, $250 is great! To do it your self..you'll need a compressor, filter, a spray gun, a spray booth etc..etc.

Have you ever painted? Please, just pay the $250 and make that mustang look good. If not, my favorite paint is PPG Global line, get reducer, quart of clear coat and paint, maybe primer. Your 00' has probably got some oxidation ( paint fade)!|||1/2 pint should be enough, but painting plastic can be tricky, you might want a pro do it.|||If you have all the spray equipment. you should only need about 2qts of paint and buy a gallon of reducer. This should two to three full coats, with some leftover, for a later date, touch-ups, etc.

How do I fix parking scratches on the bumper?

I have a silver 1999 Jetta, which has suffered the ususal parking scratches on the bumper from parking in NYC. Since the car is silver the black shows. I was wondering if there are any special ink kits that one could use to cover up these scratches. Anyonw know?|||Are they deep scratches or clear coat scuffs? I would tend to thing, based on the black, that they are clear coat scuffs from scraping a black object. Most bumper material has a natural color of an orange/yellow mix.

Anyway, I would try rubbing compound first. Go to a reputable auto paint store, they can tell you if rubbing compound will take out the scratches %26amp; what compound/wax to buy.

If the scratches are all the way to the bumper material and large, get some sandable primer %26amp; use an artist brush to fill in the scratches using several layers until the primer is built up above the existing paint. Next sand the primer down till it is even with the existing paint. Lastly, rough up the whole bumper %26amp; repaint it.

If the scratches are not deep or wide, rough up your bumper, spray some sandable primer, sand it, and repaint.

Get a book about painting cars and make sure to use a reputable paint supply shop. It is rather easy to paint cars because of the new paint technology.|||they sell some compound that u rub on and wipe off and it fixez the scratches|||Try duct tape; my grandfather could fix ANTHING with duct tape...

My 91 Camaro RS recently got into a little fender bender and i need to replace the front right quarterpanel and the entire front bumper assembly

Does anyone know approx what this will cost, or has anyone had something like this happen to their car and has any advice?|||Hello , It all depends on what type of replacement parts you buy ! If you buy after market parts, they are not perfect fit always, but alot less money. Im guessing about 300.00 for after market. If you buy dealer parts, probably over 1000.00 ! Whit it being a 1991, i would try the after market parts, unless you plan on making a collector car. Good luck !!

Is it legal to drive without a front bumper and head lights in the daytime?

My car was in a front end collision and i need to take it to a body shop to see about repairs. The car has tax and MOT and i can insure it just for the day. I can also put the number plate in the front wind screen. However, i have removed the front bumper, headlights and indicators. Is it still legal to drive?|||Strictly no, its not legal.

Without bumper if there are sharp edges thats one offence.

Number plate is easy to get around but no front indicators means the rear ones wont work properly either.

Now if you were to tow it round to the body shop, you may get away with it or better still on a trailer.|||If you think about safety your car have to be on tow to get to the repairs. It is not safe to drive without indicators even in the daytime. You decide what you will do (ask in garage: they may be able to organise delivery of your car to the garage). i had trouble with my radiator and I had 10 minutes to get to the garage. I did drive there and I belief it is worse than bumper|||On an MOT the tester will be looking to see if the car has any sharp edges that can catch a pedestrian. Without the front bumper there is a potential for the bumper mountings to catch pedestrians.|||No it is not legal..a good repairer/Body-shop will collect the car for you if it's in no fit state to drive. If they will not collect your car find another garage that will.

How can I safely remove a magnetic bumper sticker that was superglued to my car?

Someone superglued a prank magnetic bumper sticker to my car. On the body. On the paint! Can I get it off without ruining the paint?|||Simple.

It would be better if i could do it for you.

Where you posting this question from.

1. Get a solvent base glue removable product.

2. Your could also try using turpentine or Zippo fluid first.

3. Get about a metre of fishing line. Those plastic translucent ones that people use for reel fishing.

Now.

1. Slowly pour the fluid starting from the top of the sticker edge fellow round the sides of it.

Try to pour more on the top of it as it will flow down the edges.

2. Leave it there for about 10-15 mins as you mention that its a MAGNATIC bumper sticker.

3. Use the fishing line now starting from ANY edge BEHIND the sticker and slowly move the line

in a up / down momentum.

4. Slowly and surly cut your way out !

5. Any residue left from the glue remove it with your existing product that you bought with.

Is it illegal to put a magnetic bumper sticker on a police car?

I have a friend who's planning on putting a bumper sticker on a police car, it's not offensive and it's magnetic so won't damage the car, but is it illegal? I'm usually her voice of reason so if she's going to get in trouble for it I need to tell her that. What charges would she be looking at if it's illegal?|||Maybe breach of peace or something like that. Even if legal it is not advisable, as no doubt the police would not take kindly to that and might hold a grudge.|||It is illegal to put ANYTHING on ANY vehicle you don't own without the owner's permission. If I wanted to push the case, I could sue anyone placing an advertising flier on my car.
