How much will a new front bumper cost on a 2000 Pontiac Firebird?

There are deep scratches on the front bumper and one huge crack that splits it under the right headlight. How much would a new front bumper cost and what would the labor costs be?|||If I am not mistaked, I beleive that the part by itself from GM is about $700. It must be painted and then installed. If you have a brand new GM bumper painted and installed on your car, then it will probably cost around $1200 for the part, labor, material and tax. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY CHEAP KNOCKOFF PARTS... they will not fit the car properly

****EDIT****

They are very hard to find used and they are not cheap. This is all that is available in the country and the cheapest one is $300. Most of the old used ones are cracked or warped.

Look at it this way, you are going to have to have it painted after being prepped anyway so why not find a good one in a salvage yard for about 4 or 5 hundred less and then you can use the money you save not buying the new one to prep and paint the used one. Make sure you express to the guy at the salvage yard hat you want a really good one. Tell him no scratches aod dents to deal with.|||About $100 -- at a junkyard. Look in the yellow pages for used auto parts. Call them up, tell them the car you have, and what you need. They will tell you if they have a junk car in the yard and if it has a bumper that they can remove and sell to you. You might have to pay the guy on the corner $50 to put it on if you can't do it yourself.

About $800 -- at a Pontiace dealer. Go to the dealer and ask for a GM certified item.
