What is the best and most efficient way to remove bumper stickers from car window?

I would like to remove some bumper stickers from my car's windows. What is the easiest and most efficient way to do it?|||On a warm day try peeling it off. With the crud that is left use WD40 and a single edge razor blade to remove the rest of the gunk.

I done this a bunch of times and it works nicely. Hopefully you don't have any on tinted windows. Doesn't matter if the tint is from the factory or not. I ran into the problem after removing the sticker the tinting was a different color and you could still make out the design if you looked hard enough. So my truck had a Calvin image going to the bathroom on a Dodge ram head faded into the tint. After a few years you can't see it anymore.

Good luck with the stickers and don't cut yourself.|||Go to the parts store and get a single edged razor blade scraper.|||Use a heat gun or a hair dryer, and peel them off.|||Have a bucket of water handy in case you spill something on the paint.. Make sure the paint is cool. Wet the paint beneath the sticker with dish washing liquid before you begin. spray the sticker with WD-40. Let it soak through to the adhesive, then spray again. Once you begin peeling at a corner of the sticker, spray the back side, wait a few minutes, then peel the rest off. Dissolve the remaining adhesice with WD-40, then wash with dish washing liquid( Dawn preferred), and rinse. After that, observe parking regulations.|||A single edge razor blade|||i used nail polish remover (with acetone) and a scraper. it worked well, and fairly easily.|||Finger nail polish remover. I use to use it to remove price stickers from shelves in the department store I worked in. You just let it soak in a minute and most of the time you don't even have to scrape. Just make sure you don't get any on your paint on the car.|||Use acetone and a razor blade|||A straight edge razor blade.|||Razor blade and orange oil based cleaner if it leaves sticks stuff.|||single edged razor blade and scrape them off like you would ice. You can get at paint store. Ask. Won't scratch glass. cause steel and glass are same hardness|||Single edge razor blade... Wipe any residual adhesive with a soft rag and some nail polish remover.

Thank You!|||There is no cheap way to rechrome a bumper. You can send it in to be rechromed, or to remove light surface rust, use a brillo or steel wool pad with soapy water. Follow this with a chrome polish, and see if it helps.|||get a new one|||hey i would take it to all these different places where they fix this stuff and find the cheepest one!! if you have msn add m_e_baron_09@hotmail.com|||I used a potato to take rust off my cast iron skillet. You could try it on chrome. Just take a potato and cut it in half. Rub the bumper with the potato. It might work on chrome.|||if you choose to paint it than all you need to do is wet sand... use a fine sand paper with running water and go slow, all you want to do is smooth the peeling and rough it enough to hold paint. dont forget to primer first.

Including labour charges to have it fitted by a mechanic and the actual cost of a new rear bumper?|||The bumper skin of a Ka is in three parts - you may not need all three parts.

Where to find the plastic strip on top of Jeep Cherokee rear bumper?

I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee and have been rear ended recently. I replaced the rear bumper, but the replacement bumper did not come with the plastic strip on top of the bumper, and my old one has been damaged. Does anyone know what that part is called (it's a kind of plastic bar with gouges that sits on top of the bumper just below the tailgate). And also where I could buy it? Thanks a lot!|||It's called a "rear bumper step pad". I would have to say that you're gonna have to go to your local auto body shop because I looked for the part online and I could only find them for 99-01 models. Your local auto body shop though should either have them or find them with ease.

How do I safely remove the goo from a removed bumper sticker left on a real nice paint job?

My sweet new ride came with a lousy bumper sticker on it. I peeled it off, but goo remains. I need to remove it without any serious scrubbing or damage to the paint. The chemicals would have to be very mild. Maybe you guys can help. Otherwise I guess I call Grandma : )|||I work in the auto body shop for 15 years. Using wax is the best way.|||Try putting some peanut butter on it,the oil from the peanut butter might break the goo down so it will just roll off.Just a thought,I don't know why, it just popped in my head when I read your question, and it want hurt the paint on your car.

I thought of goo gone too but I thought you might want to try something without chemicals.|||GOO GONE comes in a little can, is a liquid and will gently remove the goo that remains - also good for many other applications. The GOO GONE and a soft cotton rag ( old shirt ) will do the job.|||GOO GONE!!!

That will definitely take that goo off. Trust Me. I've used that thing on every surface, it doesn't damage it and takes the goo right off.

What does a "bumper to bumper" warranty mean for an extended warranty? Is it different from factory warranty?

I am buying a used car that has7K miles left on the factory warranty. Should I buy an extended warranty till 75K for "bumper to bumper"?|||Bumper to Bumper on an extended warranty usually covers you for major MECHANICAL malfunctions. They do not usually cover light bulbs or trim pieces. Lots of times they are a pain to deal with and most of the time will leave you feeling frustrated when they denie a claim. Some places with not accept certain "after-market" warranty companys|||Bumper to bumper means that every and any thing that goes wrong with your car they will fix. Factory warranty might just include the electric parts of your car (which are important also) What you need to do is go with someone that knows about cars to help you decide if you really need bumper to bumper or not. I just bought a used car and I got the warranty that covers all electrical plus motor. Sometimes they try to sell you more than you need.|||It depends.|||That anything between the bumper and bumper that cost more than $32.61 cents is NOT covered.|||I never by automotive extended warranty as they never pay. I know. I used to sell them.|||it's bumper to bumper till 75k on the clock. nothing changes

How much is would it cost to get a back bumper repaired or replaced?

How much does it cost to fix paint on front bumper?

I have a black 03 Honda Civic EX and I accidently parked to far at a parking lot and hit a stone thing. It made a scratch going down on the front of my bumper on the right side.

How much would it cost to fix it?|||My husband is an auto-body painter so I know a little about this, but not too much! It depends on how they fix it. The best thing you can do is either see if you can get a shop to touch it up so that they just use touch-up paint in that one spot. It won't look as perfect as repainting it, but if they are good you won't notice it. Another thing that some body shops do is if you have a small job like this, you can make a deal with them that if you pay them in cash and don't use insurance, they can fix it for you and they will give the painter half the money and take the other half as profit. Ask around, don't take the first shop to throw a deal at you.|||Just do it yourself with some touch up paint, its only a bumper, why pay someone to do it. Get the correct paint at the auto store or dealer if you have to.

How do i mount a winch to a stock jeep bumper?

I have a 2004 jeep wrangler and I did not want spend money on getting a bumper for my winch if I didn't need it. I know that you can buy a mounting plate that fits onto the stock bumper, however it seems like it would need to go where the sway bar is now. So what do i do to mount it to the stock bumper?|||You cant and dont, your stock bumper is not reinforced enough to properly handle the forces a wench will make when pulling your jeep, It could all easly tear off. How do I touchup paint my scratched bumper?

I own a 2001 Acura Cl and was recently rear ended. The paint on the bumper was chipped off pretty badly, down to the metal surface. What is the best and least expensive way to get my bumper looking new again without having to replace it? I greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.|||Gosh, I just dealt with this on the front bumper of my TL...

I accidentally lowered the garage door onto the bumber...put small scatches on it.

Good news, it can be repaired to look almost as good as new....and I'm not an expert at paint, either...there's hope! :) Here's what I did:

Bought touch-up paint pens from the online source (See below). You'll need the color code for your car. Buy both the base color pen, and a clear-coat paint pen.

I used a Q-Tip...pulled off most of the cotton swab first, leaving just a little on the stick.

Clean/dry the bumper %26amp; do the touch-up in a well-lit area %26amp; when the humidity is low.

While sitting on a low slung chair in front of the bumper's damaged area, apply some of the base color to the Q-Tip with very few strokes within the damaged area. Use a small, clean piece of fabric to immediately wipe clean any over-painting that might occur.

Don't try to layer the paint to the bumper's original thickness, this will result in a poor appearance...the goal is to simply smoothly coat the raw areas of the bumper with paint.

Following the product's instructions, allow adequate time to dry, and then apply the clear-coat.

BTW, the procedure I followed works best for small scratches. Large gouges %26amp; big patches will require direct application from the paint pen, or the use of a touch-up paint bottle. Also, there's a point where buying a new bumper cover %26amp; having the pros' do the job makes the most sense. I'm guessing you'll be looking at ~ $400 - $600 for a new, painted bumper cover as installed from a body shop. (BTW, I also guessed this price b/4 reading the above post...based upon a similar repair job I had done a while back).

Best of success!|||First you need to sand with 600 grit sand paper then use primer then sand 600 grit again then a spot putty let dry and sand again with 1200 grit then paint let dry and sand again then simonize it.that's it unless the chip is deeper than i thought or just bring it to a shop and ask them how much to touch it up...Its really not that much.|||I own a Honda and a very similar incident happened to me. I went to a Honda dealer and ordered a small touch up paint bottle, this will come with precise instructions and if you follow them you will get a perfect match. Do not buy an aftermarket product because they are never the exact same. The dealer takes the year of the vehicle into consideration and dilutes the color to match the affect of the sun on your paint. FYI shake the paint bottle very well!!!|||My sister swears by nail-polish, but only if it's a little place not like the whole bumper, lol!|||use a sharpie|||If there arnt any dints, there are many products available, but from experience i used this stuff i got of the net, the site is www.paintscratch.com and it sells original factory touch up paint for pretty much any car model and make.

if you dont like buying stuff off the net, just go to you local auto shop as previously suggested.

good-luck :)|||If you were rear-ended the repair would be completely covered by the other parties insurance company. If the bumper refinish is down to the plastic (it's not metal) you will need to get it repaired and refinished. Typically $400 - $600 and on this vehicle I would get it done right. Touch up is only effective (looks "ok") on very small scratches. You will still see the damage but it wont stick out like a sore thumb. You can buy your color code from the dealer. Make sure you shake it well, wipe off excess from the applicator apply moderately. If it runs, wipe it off and start over. DO NOT store the touch up paint in your vehicle. It can explode in high temperatures.|||cheapest? contact the dealer to purchase a small tube of touch up paint. You can get the exact color of your car thru them. Sometimes the auto store only has generic colors, not the best match. They are about the size of a fat pen and under $10.|||bring it to a palce where it can get fixed.|||If the paint is chipped to the metal there is no quick fix that will look like nothing ever happened. Nothing you can buy in the store at a parts store will work. You will have to bond or prime the bumper and get it painted. Sorry.|||Buy the little bottles of paint from an auto shop. They are commonly found and come in various colors.
